Pinotage was born in 1925 when South African scientist Abraham Perold crossed Pinot Noir and Cinsault (then called Hermitage). The goal was elegance with resilience. What began as an experiment became South Africa's signature grape-bold, distinctive, and shaped by the Cape.
This case of wine allows you to taste the different cultivars. The Pinot Noir and the Cinsault (Hermitage) that was then cloned into Pinotage.

Jakkalsvlei Pinotage
This Pinotage captivates with a deep ruby red colour and enticing aromas of toasted coffee, toffee, and dark chocolate, unfolding to reveal caramel, cherries, and mulberries. On the palate, soft and smooth flavours of chocolate and roasted coffee mingle with sweet dark berries. Medium-bodied and silky, it finishes with elegant, smooth tannins - perfect for relaxing with friends or pairing with rich dishes.

Cap Maritime Coastal Pinot Noir
Medium-Bodied Red wine with finish of Cranberries, fresh cherries and a hint of salinity linger on a sorbet-like, refreshing finish. The nose is fresh, inviting and lively, with aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry coulis and cotton candy. Subtle whiffs of baking spices add greater complexity.
The red and dark berry fruit on the nose follows through with a sappy entry, showing flavours of pomegranate, red liquorice and ripe plum sauce on the palate, with hints of cloves and cedar from well-judged oaking. The wine is juicy, lithe and medium-bodied, with vibrant, zesty acidity and svelte tannins in balance.

Bellevue Cinsault
Once locally known as Hermitage, Cinsaut is the workhouse grape that became the backbone of South Africa's greatest 'Cabernet' blends from the mid-1900s. Fresh and perfumed, this is our ultimate summer red, best served chilled.
