Los Danzantes is Spanish for The Dancers.
The distillery started in 1997 after the founders tasted Mezcal for the first time and wanted to be a part of the Mezcal revolution in Mexico.
Initially, it was only supposed to be a five-year passion project, but it has been 20 years and counting now, with no slowing down.
Los Danzantes use Espadin (a type of Agave) which makes up to 90% of all Mezcal production in Mexico as it matures faster (7-10 Years) and is more sustainable
Type of barrels: American and French Oak
Time in barrels: 9 months
Fermentation: 6 days using native yeasts in 800-litre-pine-wood vats
Colour: Mahogany
Tasting notes
Smoky aroma, earthen accents and touches of vanilla and maple syrup. Flavors such as coconut, vanilla and wood as well as damp wood that prolong the aftertaste.
Well rounded, elegant on the palate.
