Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky
In 1968 George S Grant bottled a single cask straight from the warehouse and sent bottles to family and friends as Christmas gifts. The strength of that batch was 105 British Proof - this was the birth of Glenfarclas 105, the world's 1st commercially available cask strength whisky which continues to be bottled at the same 60% strength without adding water. 100% Oloroso sherry cask maturation. A great whisky holding all the flavours of Glenfarclas in one glass. The smoothness makes the 105 drinkable at cask strength, but suggest adding little water to fully explore its great depth.
Tasting Notes:
- Colour: Deep peaty- gold.
- Nose: Complex, oaky, apples and pears, and a tempting dark toffee sweetness.
- Palate: Dry and assertive, develops quickly to reveal a rich spiciness, combined with a hint of oak and sherried fruit.
- Finish: Amazingly smooth for the strength; wonderfully warming with a lingering smokiness, yet very rounded.
- Non- Chill Filtered. Natural Colour.
