Glendalough Double Barrel Irish Whiskey
Our Double Barrel has sucked the marrow out of two casks, Bourbon and Sherry. Both represent a world gone by, from the rolling hills of Bourbon county to the ancient frontier of south west Spain. They each bring their own unique flavour, and character, fastened finally by an independent Irish streak. Ireland's mild maritime climate plays its part too. The temperate winds that wash through her valleys give a gentle, sure aging. And our cold, fresh Wicklow mountain water couldn't be better for cutting cask-strength whiskey. This single grain whiskey is made using a mash bill of locally grown, malted barley and organic corn with distillation taking place in a Coffey still.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Rich with dark fruit, cherry, raisin, fig and Christmas pudding. Floral notes with lemongrass and a touch of nutmeg.
- Palate: Sweet and smooth, with butterscotch, honey and peppercorn, dried fruit, maraschino cherries and brown sugar.
- Finish: Ginger spices, a touch of almond and eathiness. A complex Irish whiskey from start to finish.

x Non-Chill Declaration: All our whiskeys are non-chill filtered. When it gets cold or the whiskey has been stationary or out of light for a period the proteins or oils may cloud or come together to form particles - this is natural and nothing to be concerned about, this is not sediment. If you shake the bottle or if left at room temperature or exposed to light it will disappear. Some large mainstream whiskeys chill filter but this removes a lot of the true flavour of the whiskey. We do not chill filter in order to retain the natural character and insure optimal quality.
