Craigellachie Whisky Single Malt is produced in a distillery designed by Charles Doig, a famous distillery architect of his time. When he visited in the 1890s, Alfred Barnard - the original Whisky writer - described Craigellachie Single Malt Whisky as Old Fashioned , which has remained true to today. The brand was created to be innovative. Two gentlemen with distilling backgrounds, Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie built the distillery on land they bought from Edward s father in 1891. At the time, the distillery was said to bring together the old and the new - a new way of thinking about Malt Whisky with time honoured techniques.
Craigellachie 17 Whisky was awarded a Gold Medal and named Whisky of the Year at CWSA 2021, as well as being awarded Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, USA, 2021.
