Bicarbonate of Soda has many different uses in the household. Bicarbonate of Soda is mainly used in conjunction with baking powder as a raising agent. It is also used as an odour neutraliser and a cleaning agent and a safe way to relieve acid indigestion and constipation.
Bicarbonate of Soda has many other uses:
Fridge/Freezer Odours - Place an open container of Bicarbonate of Soda into your fridge or freezer to absorb odours. Stir every two weeks and replace every two Months.
Dustbin Odours - To clean and neutralize dustbin odours, add one teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda to the water when washing your dustbin.
Cat Litter Odours - Bicarbonate of Soda is great for absorbing cat litter odours. Cover the bottom of the box with one part Bicarbonate of Soda then add a layer of three parts cat litter.
Unblock Drains - Unblock drains by adding four tablespoons of Bicarbonate of Soda into them each week. Flush with hot water each time.
Clean Burnt Pans - To clean burnt pans, soak in three tablespoons of Bicarbonate of Soda and water before washing.
Clean Brushes and Combs - Clean brushes and combs by soaking them in a basin of water with one tablespoon of Bicarbonate of Soda.
