Senna leaves are best known as a natural stimulant laxative. They contain compounds called sennosides, which stimulate the muscles of the colon to promote bowel movements. They are intended for short-term use and are not recommended for daily, long-term use unless advised by a healthcare professional.

How to Use
Tea
Steep -1 teaspoon (approximately 0.5-1 g) of dried senna leaves in 250 ml of hot water for 5-10 minutes.
Drink once daily, preferably at bedtime.
Effects usually occur within 6-12 hours.
Important Safety Information
Use for short-term relief only (generally no longer than 7 days unless directed by a healthcare professional).
Long-term or excessive use may lead to dependence on laxatives, electrolyte imbalances (especially low potassium), dehydration, and reduced normal bowel function.
Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
Not suitable for children unless advised by a healthcare professional.
Avoid use if you have bowel obstruction, inflammatory bowel disease, unexplained abdominal pain, severe dehydration, or persistent diarrhoea.
Stop use and seek medical advice if constipation persists or worsens.
