The USR-M100-ETH is an expandable Remote IO Edge Gateway designed to provide seamless edge connectivity in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) era. It enables real-time data collection, processing, and transmission between serial devices, sensors, and cloud platforms, serving as a robust gateway for industrial automation, smart manufacturing, and remote monitoring applications.
This gateway supports multiple communication interfaces, including 2 RS485 serial ports (the first can also operate as RS232) and an Ethernet WAN port (10/100 Mbps, auto MDI/MDIX). Serial communication supports baud rates from 600 to 230,400 bps, with flexible configuration for data bits (7 or 8), stop bits (1 or 2), parity (None, Even, Odd, Mark, Space), and flow control (None, XON/XOFF).
The USR-M100-ETH includes expandable I/O modules and onboard interfaces for digital input (DI), digital output (DO), and analog input (AI). DI channels detect logic levels from 0-36 V, DO channels include relay outputs with ratings up to 10A @ 28 V DC and 10A @ 277 V AC, and AI channels support 4-20 mA analog input. Users can further extend the gateway using USR-IO series modules for additional digital and analog inputs/outputs.
Built for industrial environments, the device features robust ESD, surge, and EFT protection compliant with IEC standards (Level 3), and its LEDs provide clear status indication for power, operation, network, serial data, DO, and DI channels.
For network connectivity, the USR-M100-ETH supports cellular networks (LTE FDD/TDD, WCDMA, GSM/GPRS/EDGE) and Ethernet, enabling flexible deployment in remote or industrial environments. Network protocols include ICMP, IPv4/6, TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, HTTPS, MQTT, SNMP, Telnet, NTP, and SSL v3. The gateway also supports Modbus RTU master functions and a wide range of data formats (8/16/32/64-bit integers and floats) for industrial control.
With cloud platform compatibility including Alibaba Cloud, AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure, PUSR Cloud, and ThingsBoard, the USR-M100-ETH allows for secure and efficient IIoT integration, supporting 16 MQTT subscription topics and 16 publish topics. Data points, digital inputs, and analog inputs can also be used for linkage control, allowing automated actions triggered by specific events.
The gateway operates reliably in harsh environments, with an operating temperature range of -40 C to +75 C, humidity tolerance from 10-90% non-condensing, and an ingress protection rating of IP30. Its compact design (79.6 × 58 × 110 mm) supports DIN rail or wall mounting for easy installation in industrial cabinets or control rooms.
