Tummy time is an important part of your baby’s day. Parents get so caught up in making sure that their baby sleeps on their back in the best position possible that they sometimes forget that tummy time is also a vital part of the baby’s development. After all, it will eventually improve the baby’s physical development.
But what exactly is tummy time? Well, it is self-explanatory. It is when the baby spends time on his/her tummy instead of his/her back while awake and under the supervision of an adult. Tummy time helps improve the baby’s motor skills and his/her muscle strength near the head and shoulders area.
Since tummy time involves your baby spending time on his/her tummy, you need a mat to help make things more comfortable for the little fellow while he/she is trying to lift his/her head. And if you get a good tummy time mat for your baby, he/she will be able to enjoy the activity more.
