A throttle body heater pipe is a component of the engine's coolant system, designed to warm the throttle body, especially in cold weather. It uses engine coolant to prevent the throttle body from freezing, which could lead to poor engine performance or stalling. The pipe typically connects to the coolant system and the throttle body itself.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
Purpose:
The primary function is to maintain the throttle body's temperature, preventing ice buildup that can interfere with its operation.
How it works:
Coolant, heated by the engine, circulates through the pipe and around the throttle body.
Location:
The heater pipe is usually located near the throttle body, often underneath it.
