The debut album, called “Nova”, showcases 4 innovative original works by Gabi le Roux, as well as a striking arrangement of Mandoza’s greatest hit and South African favourite, “Nkalakatha”. Sterling’s first record also includes arrangements of Classical works such as Bach’s Toccata in D, Entrance of the Queen of Sheba, Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, Czardas etc. Says bandleader and flautist, Carina Bruwer, “Our objective in re-working these compositions was to create powerful versions of well-known favourites that would be groundbreaking in this genre. We’re extremely excited with the result – a fresh album that will provide our listeners with top quality Classical crossover music.”
