The Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GM II Lens builds on the success of its predecessor with improved bokeh and higher resolution at all apertures, thanks to advanced lens technology. It offers full autofocus (AF) performance with -series cameras and is notably compact and lightweight, enhancing both image quality and ease of use.
The lens features Sony's latest optical innovations, including 2 extreme aspherical (XA) elements and 2 extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements, which deliver exceptional sharpness and minimise chromatic aberration. The Nano AR Coating II reduces flare and ghosting, ensuring excellent image clarity. The lens has a minimum focus distance of 0.85 meters for AF and 0.8 meters for manual focus (MF).
Enhanced optics improve the bokeh quality compared to the previous model. The 11-blade circular aperture and advanced spherical aberration control contribute to smoother transitions between sharp focus and background blur.
- Format 35mm full frame
- Maximum aperture f/1.4
- Minimum aperture f/1.6

Ideal for video, the lens features Real-time Recognition AF for precise and quiet subject tracking. It minimises focus breathing, supports body breathing compensation, and offers a click-less aperture ring and Linear Response MF for smooth control.
