What Does Each Liquid Do?
- Distilled Water is mineral-free and provides a clean liquid base. It can be used to thin your mixture and generally allows glitter to move more freely and quickly. We recommend Distilled Water rather than ordinary tap water to help reduce unwanted minerals and contaminants in your mixture.
- Vegetable Glycerine (VG) is a plant-derived liquid that can be used on its own or combined with Distilled Water and/or Snow Globe Oil. It helps increase viscosity and slow the movement of glitter for greater suspension.
- Snow Globe Oil is denser than Vegetable Glycerine and can create an even slower, more suspended glitter effect. It can be used on its own or blended with Vegetable Glycerine and/or Distilled Water depending on the effect you would like to achieve.
Create Your Own Glitter Flow
There is no single exact recipe or mixing ratio for making a Snow Globe Tumbler. The final result depends on the combination of liquids used, as well as the type, size, weight and amount of glitter added.
You can experiment with combinations such as:
- Snow Globe Oil + glitter
- Snow Globe Oil + a little Distilled Water + glitter
- Vegetable Glycerine + Distilled Water + glitter
- Snow Globe Oil + Vegetable Glycerine + glitter
- Snow Globe Oil + Vegetable Glycerine + a little Distilled Water + glitter
You do not have to use all three liquids together. You can use one liquid on its own, or combine two or all three to achieve your preferred flow and suspension.
Add your glitter and test the movement. If you would like a thinner, faster flow, add a small amount of Distilled Water. For a slower, more suspended effect, experiment with Vegetable Glycerine or the denser Snow Globe Oil.
Fine and chunky glitter will also behave differently in the liquid. Fine glitter may move very differently from chunky glitter, and the amount of glitter added will also affect the final result.
Because Snow Globe Oil is denser than Vegetable Glycerine and different glitters behave differently, there is no universal recipe or exact ratio. We recommend experimenting with small amounts and making gradual adjustments until you achieve the effect you prefer.
Important: When making a Snow Globe Tumbler, the filling hole must be properly sealed once you are happy with the liquid consistency and glitter flow. UV Resin is commonly used to seal the filling hole and is not included in this combo.

- This combo contains the Snow Globe liquids and glitter listed above only. The Snow Globe Tumbler, UV Resin and any other tools, equipment or consumables required to complete a Snow Globe Tumbler are not included and must be purchased separately.
