Most assistive devices feature a U-shaped or curved plate, approximately 15-25 cm high, perfectly fitting the soles of your feet and lower calves. Place your feet on the inside of the plate, using the opposing force of the plate to stabilize your lower limbs, preventing slipping and leaning forward during the movement. This ensures that your abdominal muscles are fully engaged with each rise. Some high-end models feature anti-slip silicone pads on the inside of the plate to increase friction between your foot and the device, ensuring stability even through sweating and reducing ankle pressure.
The plate's height can be adjusted with a knob or latch (usually with 3-5 levels). Different heights correspond to varying levels of effort-the higher the height, the higher the foot anchor point, requiring more abdominal effort when rising. You can gradually increase the intensity of the exercise based on your individual ability.
