The chameleon not only looks deceptively real. Like its companions, it can also change colour. Depending on the temperature, it is either greenish-turquoise or reddish-brown. Mainly, the male of the species uses his colour change to impress the females. But the spectacle impresses his friends too!
The chameleon is perfectly prepared for life in trees with its clawed feet and strong curly tail. So it can cling to branches with its body without being blown down by the wind. Of course it can also camouflage itself by adapting the colour of its scaly skin to the tree or rock it happens to be sitting on. But sometimes it changes colour when it wants to attract attention.
