Riscossa - Penne Zitoni Pasta 500g
The traditional Riscossa dry pasta is obtained from the grinding of durum wheat and processed according to the traditional method in use since 1902. Available in numerous sizes and ideal for preparing delicious main dishes, pasta sides and soups. The angular ends of penne act as a scoop. These pasta shapes pair best with meat, cream, and chunkier sauces.
Penne pasta is born smooth and golden, but it soon took on infinite shapes as it often happens. Initially, wheat and saffron were mixed together to give colour to the pasta, a medieval kitchen tradition, but nowadays, pasta is made simpler by using just durum wheat and water.
In Italian, the word penne is the plural form of "penna," which means pen. The pasta was given this name because its diagonal edge resembles the quill tip pen.
Produced using 100% durum wheat and fresh mountain spring water with no salts or artificial ingredients added.
Penne and rigatoni are tube shapes. Their ridges and holes allow them to trap sauces.
