Grippy soles on footpaths
The design of the sole has been the subject of extensive research in our laboratories. We have favored a specific rubber formulation to optimize grip and adhesion. We systematically seek the best compromise for moving on soft footpaths (forest type) and mineral (coastal type).
Use on the road may accelerate the wear of your shoes and cause you discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain hiking.
Tested for optimum resistance
Laboratory tests are conducted to validate the following elements: tearing of eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and upper components, accelerated aging.
These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking shoes.
Waterproof shoes for 2 hours of hiking in rainy weather
The NH100 WP shoes have been tested for 2000 flexes in the laboratory. They are therefore waterproof for 2 hours of hiking.
During the waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing:
- 2000 flexes, approximately 2 hours of hiking
- 4000 flexes, approximately 4 hours of hiking
- 8000 flexes, approximately 8 hours of hiking
We advise you to use a re-waterproofing spray several times a year which will allow you to regain the original water repellency and limit stains.
How do we test the waterproofness of your shoes?
Tested in the laboratory and in use, shoes equipped with a membrane ensure optimal waterproofing and breathability. First immersed in water under air pressure, the absence of bubbles on the surface of the shoe is checked. The shoes are then half immersed and placed on a mechanical arm simulating walking to check that the inside of the shoe remains perfectly dry.

Thanks to all your feedback, we have improved the design and design of the NH100 Mid WP waterproof shoes. In this new model, we have added an EVA (Ethylene-vinyl acetate) midsole to improve your comfort during your hikes by limiting the feeling of stones.
How to choose the right size hiking shoes?
Try both shoes, standing up, with the socks used for hiking. Try several models, several sizes if necessary. Two comfort points are to be checked:
- the heel seat
- the front of the foot when going downhill
Avoid any pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to walk to test the comfort and support. Use your shoes gradually during the first hikes to make them fit your feet.
Which pair of socks are suitable for Quechua NH100 MID waterproof shoes?
These shoes offer some breathability but not enough to wick away all the moisture from your sweat. So we recommend Hike 100 Mid socks: they contain moisture-absorbing cotton and have a terry construction that draws moisture away from your foot. They are also high enough to protect your ankle from the shoe. This is a great combination for reducing the appearance of blisters.
