A salon portable plastic sink is a lightweight, mobile hair-washing station designed for convenience and use where permanent plumbing is unavailable. It is a self-contained unit that includes an adjustable basin, a drainage hose, and a base. These sinks are constructed from durable plastic materials such as ABS or polypropylene, making them lightweight and easy to clean.
Common features
- Adjustable basin: The shampoo bowl is designed to adjust in both height and angle, or tilt, to accommodate different clients and chairs. The bowl is often contoured for neck support to ensure client comfort. For example, the Sanqiao Portable Adjustable Hair Washing Sink Shampoo Basin on Amazon.co.za has an adjustable height range from 37" to 54".
- Lightweight and mobile: The plastic construction makes the unit easy to move. Many models, such as the PansyWind Portable Movable Shampoo Bowl, feature a stable base with wheels, often with locking casters, for easy transport and secure positioning.
- Self-contained drainage: These sinks do not require a direct plumbing connection. Instead, water drains through a hose that can be directed into a bucket or other container. Some advanced models, like the PansyWind portable bowl on Amazon.co.za, include a dual-bucket system with one tank for fresh water and another for wastewater.
