Two Textures, Wound Into One:
Pets Elite Tornado Sticks take a core of real beef esophagus and wind it tightly in pork rind, creating a spiral chew with two genuinely different layers to work through. This is the Small size, 70g, sized for smaller dogs, lighter chewers and puppies. It's the Pets Elite Ancestral Lifestyle in stick form, built on BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) principles: real ingredients, minimal processing, honest preparation.
Natural Hide, the Honest Way:
The pork rind wrapping this stick is real pork rind - the actual skin of the pig, a genuine food product that was always meant to be eaten. That's different from many mass-produced hide chews on the market, which often lean on harsh chemical processing to clean, bleach and shape them. We do the opposite. No bleaching, no industrial processing - just real pork rind, dehydrated the Pets Elite way with nothing added it doesn't need.
Why the Core Matters:
Beef esophagus naturally contains glucosamine and chondroitin - the same compounds found in joint supplements - contributing to mobility, flexibility and comfortable movement as an everyday part of your dog's chewing routine.
Two Textures, One Satisfying Chew:
Rated 3-4/5 Medium Hard to Hard on our Chewyness Scale, the spiral construction gives your dog two distinct textures to work through in a single stick - the firm outer rind first, then the denser esophagus core.
Our Chewyness Scale: 1 = Very Soft | 2 = Soft | 3 = Medium Hard | 4 = Hard | 5 = Very Hard
A Note on Aroma:
This is a real, honestly prepared product with a strong natural smell - completely normal, and exactly what makes it so appealing to your dog.
Make It Even Better:
Here's a trick every Pets Elite regular knows - smear a little Pets Elite Peanut Butter for Dogs along the spiral, or dunk one straight into Mutelo. The soft, flavour-packed topper against the firm base is a genuine favourite. Worth having a jar of either in the cupboard.
Key Benefits:
- Two-Layer Chew: Real beef esophagus wound in real pork rind - texture and flavour in every bite
- Naturally Rich in Glucosamine & Chondroitin: The esophagus core contributes to everyday joint support
- Naturally Collagen-Rich: The pork rind layer supports skin and coat condition
- Right-Sized: Small pieces suit smaller dogs, lighter chewers and puppies
- Honestly Prepared: No harsh chemical processing, artificial flavourants, colourants or preservatives
- Proudly South African: Made in Cape Town with care and honest ingredients
Ingredients:
Beef Esophagus, Pork, Vinegar (used in preparation for natural shelf stability).
Freshness Note:
This is a real meat product with no artificial preservatives, so once opened, always reseal the packet tightly between feeds. Extended exposure to air will dry the product out and affect freshness, and keeping it sealed also stops insects from getting to it - resealing after every use is the simplest way to keep it fresh and safe.
A Note on Natural Variation:
Length, thickness and colour will vary slightly piece to piece - the honest reality of a real, naturally prepared product. Quality never varies, character does.
Suitable For:
Dogs of all breeds matched to size | Smaller dogs, lighter chewers and puppies | Dogs needing collagen and joint support | Dental health and everyday chewing enrichment | Raw feeders and BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) diet enthusiasts
Not Recommended For:
Dogs that gulp treats whole without chewing
Feeding Tip:
Always supervise chewing and keep fresh water available. Remove any piece small enough to swallow whole. Wash hands after handling. Treats should stay under 10% of daily calorie intake.
Also Available:
Tornado Sticks also come in a Large 140g size - same beef esophagus and pork rind combination, sized up for bigger dogs and dedicated chewers.

About Pets Elite:
Founded in Cape Town in 2005, Pets Elite is one of the pioneers of natural dog treats and raw nutrition in South Africa. Our entire range is built around the Pets Elite Ancestral Lifestyle philosophy and the principles of the BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) diet: real animal protein, whole-animal nutrition, minimal processing and honest, natural preservation.
We avoid grains, sugars, salts, colourants and artificial additives - none of which offer any real benefit to dogs - producing treats designed to support long-term health, vitality and natural feeding instincts. We focus on human-grade meats, natural fats, traditional methods and gentle preservation - delivering food closer to what dogs' wild ancestors evolved to consume.
The result: treats made to support everyday vitality, help maintain a glossy coat and settled digestion, and encourage the natural energy that comes from eating real food.
Every treat we make reflects our promise: quality, integrity and pure pet joy.
