One of South Africa’s longest serving singers and a current superstar have joined forces to create something memorable. The artists in question are iconic 80s singer PJ Powers and multi-award-winning HHP who initially came together to record a new version of Powers’ monster hit “Jabulani” which she recorded whilst a member of Hotline.
As it happens, Jabulani Tsambo is HHP’s given name - and Jabulani is the name of the official football for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. The adidas Jabulani, which means ‘to celebrate’ in isiZulu, is the 11th edition of adidas's FIFA World Cup balls.
To mark all of this, PJ Powers and HHP are releasing a joint album featuring their new version of “Jabulani” as well as 14 tracks drawn from PJ Powers and HHP’s respective repertoire.
It’s an innovative move – and one that’s likely to strike gold with music fans throughout the country!
