Feed a minimum of 10-14% of the bird's body weight daily, adjusting for species, activity level, and an avian body condition score of 3. If a bird weighs 400 grams, it will eat about 40 grams of this complete and balanced diet a day. It is recommended to feed enough as the parrot will eat to suit its requirement. If there is food leftover, the parrot is getting enough.
It is advisable to add chopped fruits and vegetables on all feedings. These pellets can be fed dry. They are perfect for feeding out of breeding season and will give your parrot all the nutrients they require.
It is not advisable to supplement with sunflower seeds, but for bigger parrots such as macaws and cockatoos that have a much higher fat requirement, you can add extra nuts (around 10 grams per day). Always ensure parrots have fresh drinking water available.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container, in a cool, dry place. If no bin is available, wrap up the bag after feeding. Do not store in sunlight or near a heat source like a fridge or oven.
