Nestled in the rolling gardens of Thyolo in southern Malawi, this black tea is cultivated at altitudes between 1,000 and 1,200 metres. The region's cool temperatures and rich soil contribute to the tea's deep, characterful flavour, making it one of Africa's most respected tea-producing areas.

The infusion is bold and grounding, with a robust woody character and earthy undertones. Its golden red liquor reflects the warmth of the African sun and the care of generations of local farmers. Each cup delivers a rich, satisfying presence that speaks of tradition and vitality.

Ideal for those who prefer a full-bodied, no-nonsense black tea, Malawi Black offers a strong yet balanced profile that is both versatile and invigorating.

Serving suggestion:

We recommend brewing black tea with water at around 95 degrees Celsius. Steep the tea for approximately 3 minutes, then taste to see if the strength suits your preference. If you desire a stronger brew, you may steep it for another minute or two. Use a teapot with an infuser for best results. If a teapot is not available, an infuser ball, infuser cup, or a fine mesh strainer will also work well. For each serving, use about 3 to 4 grams of loose leaf tea, or roughly one teaspoon. This tea may be steeped a second time; simply extend the brewing time to draw out the remaining flavour.
