Grown in the lush highlands of Kericho, west of Kenya's Great Rift Valley, this tea reflects the transformation of the country's tea industry from colonial-era estates to thriving small-scale family farms. The Marinyn blend brings together leaves from several of these farms, showcasing Kenya's dedication to quality and craftsmanship in orthodox tea production.
Marinyn is admired for its Darjeeling-like style. Its neatly twisted leaves, marked with golden tips, produce a bright and robust liquor. The taste is medium-bodied, layered with subtle floral and fruity notes that provide both freshness and depth.
A tea that stands on its own, it is best enjoyed pure to appreciate the nuanced flavours and natural energy of Kenya's vibrant tea-growing terroir.
Serving suggestion:
We recommend brewing black tea with water at around 95 degrees Celsius. Steep the tea for approximately 3 minutes, then taste to see if the strength suits your preference. If you desire a stronger brew, you may steep it for another minute or two. Use a teapot with an infuser for best results. If a teapot is not available, an infuser ball, infuser cup, or a fine mesh strainer will also work well. For each serving, use about 3 to 4 grams of loose leaf tea, or roughly one teaspoon. This tea may be steeped a second time; simply extend the brewing time to draw out the remaining flavour.
