Ceylon Pettiagalla is a distinguished black tea from the Dimbula region in the Balangoda District of Sri Lanka. This area is known for its generous rainfall and nutrient rich soil, providing the perfect environment for cultivating high quality tea. The result is a tea that embodies both strength and refinement, with a vibrant dark red liquor and a smooth, aromatic character.

This particular tea is fully fermented, reaching about 95 percent oxidation, which allows it to develop deep flavour while remaining naturally mild and rounded. Its taste is clean and fragrant, with subtle layers that are best appreciated without milk, letting the leaf's original qualities come through with clarity.

Pettiagalla represents the essence of classic Ceylon tea, balanced, elegant and vibrant. It is a tea for those who seek depth without bitterness, and a daily companion that offers comfort and quiet excellence in each cup.

Serving suggestion:

We recommend brewing black tea with water at around 95 degrees Celsius. Steep the tea for approximately 3 minutes, then taste to see if the strength suits your preference. If you desire a stronger brew, you may steep it for another minute or two. Use a teapot with an infuser for best results. If a teapot is not available, an infuser ball, infuser cup, or a fine mesh strainer will also work well. For each serving, use about 3 to 4 grams of loose leaf tea, or roughly one teaspoon. This tea may be steeped a second time; simply extend the brewing time to draw out the remaining flavour.
