Assam Bukhial is a robust and characterful black tea grown on the southern banks of the Brahmaputra River in the remote state of Assam, India. This tea estate is owned and managed by George Williamson Assam Ltd, one of the world's largest privately owned tea plantation groups. Bukhial's location near Nagaland, once home to legendary headhunters and still roamed by wild elephants, gives it a mystique that matches the depth of its flavour.

This second flush full leaf Assam is known for its rich, earthy notes and deep amber infusion. Due to lower rainfall in this region, the tea bushes grow slower and develop concentrated flavours. The result is a mature, full bodied cup with strength and clarity, perfect for those who enjoy a strong black tea with no compromise on refinement.

This tea offers a bold and grounding experience, reflecting the land and legacy from which it comes. It is a brew that honours time, place and tradition in every steep.

Serving suggestion:

We recommend brewing black tea with water at around 95 degrees Celsius. Steep the tea for approximately 3 minutes, then taste to see if the strength suits your preference. If you desire a stronger brew, you may steep it for another minute or two. Use a teapot with an infuser for best results. If a teapot is not available, an infuser ball, infuser cup, or a fine mesh strainer will also work well. For each serving, use about 3 to 4 grams of loose leaf tea, or roughly one teaspoon. This tea may be steeped a second time; simply extend the brewing time to draw out the remaining flavour.
