USAGE GUIDE:
- Step 1 - Inspect Before Use: Check the tow rope and shackles for any signs of damage, wear, or deformation. Do not use if damaged, corroded, knotted, or if the lock is deformed, has holes, or is corroded. See "Do Not Use If" section below.
- Step 2 - Attach the Shackles: Securely attach the D-ring shackles to the tow points on both vehicles. Ensure the latch is firmly installed and stable before dragging. Make sure the shackles are rated for the load.
- Step 3 - Connect the Tow Rope: Attach the tow rope to the shackles. Ensure the connections are secure and the rope is not twisted or knotted.
- Step 4 - Tow Slowly & Steadily: Tow slowly and pull the rope tight. Do not rapid drag or jerk the rope. Sudden force can cause the rope to break or the shackles to fail. Use a steady, gentle pull
- Step 5 - Use a Damper (Recommended): Place a heavy blanket, jacket, or purpose-built damper over the middle of the tow rope. This reduces the risk of injury if the rope snaps.
- Step 6 - Check Frequently: Check the tow rope frequently during towing to ensure it remains in good condition and the connections are secure.
- Step 7 - Store Properly: After use, inspect the rope and shackles, clean if necessary, and store in a dry place. Avoid storing in direct sunlight for extended periods.
QUICK TIPS:
- Do not exceed the specified load - 18 tons maximum capacity. Never overload.
- Do not drag on rough surfaces - This can damage the rope and weaken it.
- Do not use repaired or damaged tow rope - Replace immediately if damaged.
- Tow slowly, pull tight - Avoid rapid dragging or jerking. Steady, gentle pulls are safer.
- Ensure latch is firm - Make sure the shackle latch is securely closed before towing.
- Check frequently - Inspect the tow rope and connections regularly during use.
