A bull bar light that only fires forward is doing half a job. On a tight gravel switchback, or a two-track hemmed in by thorn, the thing you need to see is off to the side - and that's exactly where a conventional spot leaves you blind.

The 5" fixes that with a second set of optics. Four Osram LEDs sit behind curved, metallised reflectors that punch an 18 spot straight down the road to 1 lux at 400 metres. Two more windows on the flanks of the housing throw light sideways, opening the picture out to a full 180 . Reach and peripheral vision from one 115mm unit - no second pair of floods required.
Small enough to matter, too. At 115 × 115mm and only 72mm deep - 135mm tall including the bracket - these clear the slim bull bars fitted to the current Hilux, Ranger, D-Max and Amarok, where a 9-inch round fouls the winch or the bonnet line. They mount just as happily to a roof rack, A-pillar or tray.

Stays cool, stays dry - Cast heat sinks pull temperature off the diodes; a breather vent equalises pressure so condensation can't form behind the lens after a river crossing. 50,000-hour rated life.
Corrugation-proof - Die-cast aluminium housing on 6mm aluminium brackets, AkzoNobel powder coated against rust, salt and UV. IP68 sealed.
Easy on the eyes - 5,700K reads close to daylight: detail at distance without the blue cast that leaves you squinting by the time you make camp.
Sealed connections - 3-pin DT connector. No scotch-locks, no corroded spades two seasons in.
