How to test a cableInsert the battery into the Master unit. Most standard testers use a 9V battery.
Make sure the cable is not connected to any live equipment before testing.
Connect the cable to be tested.
For an RJ45 cable (Ethernet): Plug one end into the RJ45 port on the Master unit and the other end into the RJ45 port on the Remote unit.
For an RJ11 cable (telephone): Plug one end into the RJ11 port on the Master unit and the other into the RJ11 port on the Remote unit.
Turn on the tester using the power switch on the Master unit.
Observe the LED lights on both the Master and Remote units.
