The KEMO M241 Vibration Switch is an intelligent 12 VDC control module that automatically switches connected devices according to the presence or absence of vibration. Designed primarily for automotive, industrial, and machinery applications, the module detects vibrations generated by running engines or operating equipment, switching the connected device off while movement is present and automatically restoring power after a preset delay once the vibrations stop.
The module is particularly useful for equipment that should only operate when a vehicle or machine is stationary. Typical applications include activating marten repellent devices after a vehicle has been parked, triggering warning horns when machinery unexpectedly stops, or controlling auxiliary equipment that must remain inactive while engines or motors are running.
The M241 continuously monitors vibration levels and is factory-adjusted to detect vibration characteristics typical of internal combustion engines. When vibrations are detected, the output is switched off after a short delay of approximately three seconds to prevent false triggering caused by brief interruptions. Once all movement has ceased, the module waits approximately 22 seconds before restoring power to the connected device, ensuring reliable operation only when the equipment is fully stationary.
The module supports 12 VDC systems with an operating voltage range of 11-15 VDC and can control devices drawing up to 1 A. Extremely low standby current consumption-only a few microamps-makes it ideal for permanent installation in battery-powered automotive systems without significantly draining the battery.
A flashing LED provides a clear visual indication of the module's operating status, simplifying installation and troubleshooting. Its compact design allows convenient installation in vehicles, machinery, control cabinets, or other applications requiring vibration-based automatic switching.
The KEMO M241 offers a dependable and energy-efficient solution for automatically controlling electrical equipment based on machine or vehicle movement, improving convenience, equipment protection, and system automation.
