The KEMO M237 Universal Stereo Preamplifier Module is a compact, low-noise audio preamplifier designed to amplify weak stereo audio signals before they reach a power amplifier. Ideal for microphones, audio sources with low output levels, DIY audio equipment, and custom sound systems, this module significantly improves signal strength while maintaining excellent sound quality and minimal distortion.
Designed for universal audio applications, the M237 is installed between a low-level audio source and a stereo power amplifier. It provides approximately 30 dB of voltage gain, making it particularly suitable for boosting microphone signals, portable audio devices, and other low-output audio equipment that require additional amplification before reaching the main amplifier.
The module delivers outstanding audio performance with a wide frequency response extending from approximately 8 Hz to 60 kHz, ensuring faithful reproduction of both low-frequency bass and high-frequency detail. Its exceptionally low distortion of less than 0.02% preserves the original audio signal, resulting in clean, natural sound reproduction suitable for both speech and music applications.
Operating from a stabilised 9-24 VDC power supply or battery, the M237 consumes only around 3.4 mA at 12 V, making it highly energy efficient and well suited to portable, battery-powered, and permanently installed audio systems.
With a high input impedance of 100 k , the module interfaces easily with a wide variety of microphones and audio sources without excessive loading. It is designed to drive amplifier inputs with load impedances greater than 2 k , ensuring broad compatibility with most stereo amplifier systems.
Its compact design allows easy integration into custom enclosures, mixers, intercoms, audio projects, and OEM equipment. Whether upgrading an existing amplifier, building a custom audio device, or improving microphone sensitivity, the KEMO M237 provides reliable, high-quality stereo preamplification in a compact and efficient package.
