As vocalist and guitarist with the legendary Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham made a name for himself as a songwriter with a distinct pop sensibility and instrumental prowess, facets that have translated to his numerous solo albums - 'Gift Of Screws' being the fifth. The title is taken from an Emily Dickinson poem, somewhat at odds with the rockier feel to this record compared to previous efforts. Indeed, throughout this release is a definite rawness and clarity of expression which Buckingham brings to the fore.
