Water repellency of the component (not to be confused with impermeability)
The water repellency of a fabric is its ability to let water slide over its surface, without absorbing it. Thus the textile does not become waterlogged and remains light and warm.
Water repellency is obtained by a treatment applied to the external face of the fabric. This treatment needs to be renewed during the life of the garment (we recommend after each wash). Products are available for this purpose in our stores.

A valuable tip for better resistance of your down jacket!
Generally speaking, it is not recommended to wash a down jacket too frequently because each wash reduces its thermal properties.

Your Down Jacket Has A Snag, How To Repair It?
When trekking, a tear on a down jacket can happen and the good news is that it can be repaired! In fact, you can either mend it or apply an iron-on patch to it, in order to prevent the tear from getting bigger or the synthetic fibres from escaping.
You don't feel comfortable doing this repair yourself? Don't panic! Some Decathlon workshops offer a repair service for your down jackets in store.
