Fat Five & Friends Animal Chess Set(FFC7)

Handcrafted in South Africa Each piece is carefully sculpted, bringing to life iconic African animals - the "Fat Five" (hippo, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and lion) alongside other companions.

• Hand-painted with oil The use of oil paint gives the figures a rich, glossy finish, adding depth and elegance to the whimsical animal forms.
• The board itself is carefully painted, giving it a vibrant, unique finish. The brushwork adds depth and personality, turning the set into a functional artwork.
• Unique cultural artistry Beyond being a game, the set celebrates African wildlife and craftsmanship, turning every match into a miniature safari on the chessboard.
• Koto and cherry wood board Koto wood provides a fine, light grain, while cherry wood adds warmth and contrast. Together, they create a visually striking playing surface that balances elegance with durability.
• Resin and stone frame The frame is crafted from polyester resin mixed with ground stone, giving it a solid, earthy texture. This blend not only strengthens the board but also adds a tactile, natural feel.
• Collector's appeal Because it's hand painted and hand crafted, no two sets are identical - making each one a one-of-a-kind treasure.
• This isn't just a chess set; it's a storytelling piece. The animals embody both humor and majesty, while the oil-painted finish elevates them into fine art. It's the kind of set that sparks conversation whether displayed or played.
