BioEars antimicrobial silicone earplugs are soft, moldable silicone earplugs designed to protect your ears from water and noise, with the added benefit of antimicrobial protection to help reduce the risk of ear infections. They are similar to standard silicone earplugs but contain an antimicrobial agent (often Activaloe or silver-based additives) to limit bacterial growth.
What Are BioEars Used For?
- Swimming and water protection - Prevents water from entering the ear canal, useful for swimmers or people prone to swimmer's ear.
- Noise reduction - Reduces background noise for sleeping, studying, or relaxing (though not as effective as foam earplugs in loud settings).
- Hygiene-sensitive situations - Ideal for those concerned about cleanliness or with ear infections or ear tubes.
How to Use BioEars Correctly:
- Clean your hands thoroughly before handling the plugs.
- Soften the plug - Take one plug and gently roll or knead it into a smooth ball between your fingers.
- Do not insert into the ear canal - Instead, press the plug over the ear canal opening to form a seal. Mold it gently to fit the contours of your outer ear.
- Create a good seal - Press around the edges to make sure the plug forms an airtight seal over the ear canal.
- To remove - Gently lift an edge and peel the plug away from the ear.
- Reuse as directed - BioEars are reusable a few times (usually up to 5 uses), or until they lose stickiness or become dirty. Store in the provided case between uses.
Tips & Precautions:
- Can be slipt up into a smaller ball for kids/ smaller ear size
- Not suitable for deep noise cancellation in industrial settings.
- Avoid pushing it into the ear canal-it's designed to cover, not enter.
- Keep away from small children (choking hazard).
