Stick to Nature Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil is not a synthetic, laboratory-designed fragrance made simply to smell pleasant. It is steam-distilled from cinnamon bark, preserving the oil's naturally rich spicy profile and the qualities for which genuine cinnamon bark oil is valued.
The Cinnamon Bark Scent Profile
Cinnamon Bark is best understood as a warm, stimulating and intensely purifying essential oil. Its rich, sweet-spicy aroma is naturally dominated by cinnamaldehyde, the component responsible for its unmistakable cinnamon scent and powerful character. This profile makes Cinnamon Bark especially valuable for warming aromatic blends, natural cleaning, odour control and freshening damp or stale spaces. Unlike Cinnamon Leaf Oil, which is usually dominated by eugenol, Cinnamon Bark Oil is primarily cinnamaldehyde-rich and must be used much more cautiously on the skin.
HOW TO USE CINNAMON BARK ESSENTIAL OIL
Warming
Cinnamon Bark has a naturally warm and stimulating aroma that can make a cold, dull or uninviting environment feel more alive. It is particularly suited to winter diffuser blends, warming room sprays and seasonal home-fragrance products. Blend a very small amount with Sweet Orange, Cedarwood or Frankincense to soften its intensity and create a rich, comforting atmosphere.
Cinnamon Bark may also be included in professionally formulated muscle-comfort products, but only at an extremely low concentration. It is too strong for casual home mixing or undiluted massage use.
Comforting Aroma
The familiar aroma of cinnamon is closely associated with warmth, home and comfort. Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil adds a deep, natural spiciness to diffuser blends and room products without relying on an artificially formulated cinnamon fragrance.
Use it sparingly in evening room blends, winter home fragrances and comforting aromatic combinations. It works particularly well with Sweet Orange for warmth, Cedarwood for depth, Lavender for softness or Frankincense for a richer, more grounded character.
Energising
Cinnamon Bark has a bold, lively aroma that can help awaken a tired or low-energy atmosphere. Its spicy character is more stimulating than calming, making it useful during dull mornings, busy working periods or whenever a space needs an energetic lift.
Add only a very small amount to a well-balanced diffuser blend. Cinnamon Bark can quickly overpower gentler oils, so it is best used as an accent rather than as the main oil in the blend.
Natural Cleansing
Cinnamon Bark's cinnamaldehyde-rich profile gives it a naturally powerful cleansing character. It is especially suited to robust household products such as floor cleaners, bathroom sprays, bin fresheners, laundry-area products and multipurpose cleaning blends.
Its warm spicy aroma combines well with Lemon, Sweet Orange, Tea Tree and Eucalyptus. Cinnamon Bark supports the purifying character of a cleaning formulation, but it does not replace the surfactants, detergents or registered disinfecting ingredients required for effective cleaning or disinfection.
Antimicrobial Cleansing Support
Cinnamon Bark Oil and its main component, cinnamaldehyde, have demonstrated activity against various microorganisms in laboratory studies. This makes the oil useful as a supporting botanical ingredient in properly formulated household cleaners, cleansing soaps, shoe products and odour-control blends.
Antifungal Cleansing Support
Cinnamon Bark's strong natural profile has also shown activity against various fungi in laboratory testing. It may therefore be useful in household products intended for damp, stale or musty areas, including bathroom cleaners, shoe sprays, laundry-area products and surface-cleansing blends.
This does not make the pure oil a treatment for fungal skin, scalp or nail conditions. Do not apply Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil directly to the feet, nails or other affected areas. Its strong cinnamaldehyde content can cause burning, irritation and skin sensitivity.
Air Freshening
Cinnamon Bark is highly effective at transforming the character of a room. Its intense spicy aroma helps cover stale household odours while creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It is especially popular in living areas, entrances, kitchens and seasonal home-fragrance products.
Use it very sparingly in diffusers, wax products or room sprays. It blends especially well with Sweet Orange, Lemon, Cedarwood and Frankincense. Because the vapour can irritate the nose and throat when too concentrated, more oil does not produce a better result.
Warning:
For external and aromatic use only. Do not swallow or apply undiluted to the skin. Cinnamon Bark is an exceptionally concentrated, cinnamaldehyde-rich essential oil that may cause significant burning, irritation or an allergic skin reaction. Always use it at a very low concentration in a properly formulated product and follow the supplier's current IFRA and safety guidance.
Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil is generally not suitable for casual undiluted spot use, facial products or application to sensitive, broken or inflamed skin. Do not add the pure oil directly to bath water, as essential oils do not dissolve in water and may contact the skin at full strength. Do not substitute Cinnamon Bark and Cinnamon Leaf oils for one another in a formulation, as their chemical profiles and safety limits differ.
Avoid contact with the eyes, inner ears, mouth, nostrils and other sensitive areas. Use only a very small amount when diffusing, keep the room well ventilated and avoid continuous exposure. Cinnamaldehyde vapour or mist can irritate the eyes, mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract. Discontinue use and move into fresh air if coughing, throat irritation, headache, breathing discomfort or an allergic reaction occurs.
Keep tightly closed, protected from heat, air and direct light, and out of reach of children and pets. Do not apply concentrated Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil directly to animals or add it to their food or drinking water. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before use during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, on children, or where a medical condition, breathing disorder, medication use or fragrance sensitivity is present.
