The plastic bleeder screw for the cooling system is used to bleed air that could otherwise create an air pocket which could lead to overheating. The plastic bleeder screws that come standard on BMW cooling systems do their job pretty well.
However, they can strip pretty easily if youre not careful. It will be impossible to finish bleeding your cooling system if you strip a bleeder screw.
This brass version is significantly more durable and will resist stripping or damage that occurs to its plastic counterparts.
