How to Apply for the Best Result
To achieve a flawless, factory-standard finish, follow these official Angelus application steps:
- Preparation: Before you start painting, ensure the leather product is completely dust- and grease-free. Remove the factory finisher by wiping the surface down with Angelus Preparer & Deglazer (pure acetone can also be used). Allow to dry for a few minutes.
- Painting: Apply the paint in thin, even layers. Do not apply it too thick. Let each coat dry for 10 to 15 minutes before applying subsequent thin layers. Keep adding coats until you reach your desired opaque finish (usually 3 to 4 coats).
- Curing: Once finished, allow the painted product to dry and cure for at least 24 hours before wearing, bending, or flexing.
- Finishing (Optional): To add extra protection or customize the gloss level, apply 1 to 2 light coats of Angelus Acrylic Finisher (available in finishes ranging from Flat to High Gloss) over the dried paint.
